TITLE: Network Systems Analyst
LOCATION: Herndon, VA

QVine is hiring a Network Systems Analyst to analyze, design, test, and evaluate network systems, including LAN, WAN, Internet, intranet, and other data communications systems while performing network modeling, analysis, and planning.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software including telecommunications specialists who deal with the interfacing of computer and communications equipment. May be responsible for supervising computer programmers.
Maintains needed files by adding and deleting files on the network server and backing up files to guarantee their safety in the event of problems with the network.
Monitors system performance and provide security measures, troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
Assists users to diagnose and solve data communication problems.
Sets up user accounts, regulating and monitoring file access to ensure confidentiality and proper use.
Designs and implements systems, network configurations, and network architecture, including hardware and software technology, site locations, and integration of technologies.
Maintains the peripherals, such as printers, that are connected to the network.
Identifies areas of operation that need upgraded equipment such as modems, fiber optic cables, and telephone wires. Trains users in use of equipment.
Develops and writes procedures for installation, use, and troubleshooting of communications hardware and software. Adapts and modifies existing software to meet specific needs.
Works with other engineers, systems analysts, programmers, technicians, scientists and top-level managers in the design, testing and evaluation of systems.
Tests and evaluates hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing system, and make purchase recommendations.
